Recognizing Metroparks Toledo for receiving The 2020 Gold Medal Grand Plaque with best wishes for continued success in the future.
Summary
WHEREAS, Metroparks Toledo was named recipient of The 2020 Gold Medal Grand Plaque, for excellence in Park and Recreation Management; and
WHEREAS, the National Gold Medal Award program honors communities throughout the United States that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development and agency recognition; and
WHEREAS, Metroparks Toledo leased its first piece of property in 1930 from the State of Ohio and has subsequently grown every decade in both acreage and program offerings; and
WHEREAS, Metroparks Toledo launched a master plan in 2013 which consists of plans to create new corridors and greenways connecting the parks and making them more accessible; soon every Lucas County Resident will be within five miles of a Metropark; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Toledo City Council does hereby recognize Metroparks Toledo for receiving The 2020 Gold Medal Grand Plaque with best wishes for continued success in the future.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the earliest date allowed by law.
