SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo has initiated a systematic, annual anti-tampering hydrant replacement program to replace old hydrants in high tampering and turn on areas. Money for this program has been budgeted in the 2020 Department of Public Utilities Capital Improvement Program. It is the intent of this ordinance to appropriate and expend $500,000 from the Water Replacement Fund for the purchase of hydrants, hydrant valves and appurtenances. This work is necessary to maintain safe, reliable water service in the City of Toledo service area.
