SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
UAW Local 14, located at 5411 Jackman Rd., Toledo, Ohio recently discovered that its sewer line had been improperly connected to an abandoned City sewer line. This improper connection was causing severe sewer and water back-ups. The improper connection occurred as a result of work done by the City of Toledo. To repair the problem UAW Local 14 has incurred damages in the amount of $17,740 in order to have the sewer line properly re-tapped and relocated. The subject line is located 23 feet underground.
A proposed agreement has been reached in the amount of $17,740 to settle all claims resulting from the incident described herein without constituting an admission of liability on behalf of the City of Toledo.
