Commending Toledo Police Officers Daniel Balon and Dustin Rausch for a job well done for going above and beyond the call of duty with an immeasurably positive impact on the community they serve.
Summary
WHEREAS, on January 6, 2020, Toledo Police Officers Daniel Balon and Dustin Rausch followed up to check the safety of an elderly domestic violence victim; and
WHEREAS, the victim, who had been assaulted by her mentally ill son the day before, told the officers that the suspect still had access to the apartment, and that the property owner was not able to change the locks yet; and
WHEREAS, the officers then decided to purchase and install new locks themselves to ensure the safety of the victim; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Toledo Police Officers Daniel Balon and Dustin Rausch are hereby commended for a job well done, for their decision to selflessly go above and beyond the call of duty resulting in having an immeasurably positive impact on the community they serve.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the earliest date allowed by law.
