Recognizing Ms. Gina K. Thompson as she leaves Toledo for a position at Owens Corning in Atlanta, Georgia.
Summary
WHEREAS, Ms. Gina K. Thompson will be leaving her current position at Owens Corning in Toledo for a new position as the HR Leader - Plant Operations, at the Owens Corning Atlanta Roofing Plant in September; and
WHEREAS, she will be greatly missed by those who worked with her at Owens Corning as well as through the service and social organization community throughout Northwest Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Thompson has been responsible for leading recruiting initiatives to attract early career talent into Owens Corning; she is also responsible for leading diversity strategies, policies, processes, and practices; and
WHEREAS, she was active in leadership positions and as a board member in Boys & Girls Club of Toledo; Toledo Zoo; Neighborhood Housing Services of Toledo, Inc.; Leadership Toledo; Greater Toledo Urban League; Toledo Housing Advisory Committee; YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo; and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Toledo Alumnae Chapter; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Gina K. Thompson will be sad to leave all her friends, co-workers, and fellow board members, for her new position within OC, she is very excited to be moving within two hours of her greatest joys, her grandchildren; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That we recognize the positive force that Ms. Gina K. Thompson has for good within the Toledo area and that she will truly be missed as she moves on to her new position within Owens Corning.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
