SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
In collaboration with the Cric_Boyz group, the Division of Parks, Recreation & Forestry plans to develop another cricket pitch within the city to expand the opportunity for others to enjoy additional recreational programming. Formal bidding took place, and contracts for work to be performed at Winterfeld Park are funded and in process. Cric_Boyz are donating $10,000 toward this project. The City’s contribution will be $8,750, and will be from the approved Capital Improvement Fund budget.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That a donation in the sum of $10,000 is authorized to be accepted and deposited into the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-60500-8CP1904PRKINF.
SECTION 2. That an appropriation of $10,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-60500-8CP1904PRKINF, for the excavation, construction and installation of a new cricket pitch plus additional upgrades to the grounds at Winterfeld Park.
SECTION 3. That an expenditure in the amount of $18,750 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-60500-8CP1904PRKINF, for the excavation, construction and installation of a new cricket pitch plus additional upgrades to the grounds at Winterfeld Park.
SECTION 4. That the mayor is authorized to accept bids and enter into contracts for the purpose identified in Sections 2 and 3.
SECTION 5. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against 5040-60500-8CP1904PRKINF, in payment of the above obligations authorized upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 6. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and to allow the contracts to be processed so the work can be done in the spring of 2019.
