Title
Authorizing the mayor to enter into sanitary sewer repair contracts and to execute all documents necessary and proper to facilitate in Sewer District 1 (North and East), within the public rights-of-way and/or public sanitary sewer easements; authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $778,746 from the Sanitary Sewer Operating Fund; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes a contract for the performance of sanitary sewer repairs in sewer District 1 (North and East) within the public rights-of-way and/or public sanitary sewer easements beyond the scope of what the in-house crews are capable of performing. Bids have been solicited received and lowest and best bidder has been selected in accordance with law. Funds have been identified in the 2018 operating budget to pay the anticipated cost of said sanitary sewer repairs.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to enter into a one (1) year contract with (2) one (1) year extension options and to execute all documents necessary and proper to facilitate sanitary sewer repairs in District 1 (North and East) within the public rights-of-way and/or public sanitary sewer easements upon such terms and conditions shall be approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure in an amount not to exceed $778,746 annually from the Sanitary Sewer Operating Fund in account code 6070-37000-4000509STDSTD is authorized for sanitary sewer repairs in District 1 (North and East) within the public rights-of-way and/or public sanitary sewer easements, subject to the availability of funds in future years.
