SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Levis Square Park was originally constructed in the early 1970's and various elements of the park are in a state of disrepair. This ordinance authorizes expending $500,000 from the Engineering Services approved 2018 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget for professional design services and the repair and/or reconstruction of Levis Square Park (Phase 1) including walks, planting beds, stairs, drainage structures and conduits, utility connections and other landscape and park elements that are past their useful life.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the sum of $500,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund, account code 5040-35000-8CP1828LEVISS for professional design services and the repair and/or reconstruction of Levis Square Park (Phase 1).

SECTION 2. That the mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1.

SECTION 3. That the director of finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. That the disappropriation of any remaining budget is authorized at project closeout.

SECTION 5. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary ...
