SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
As set forth in Ohio Revised Code Chapter 1710, the Ohio General Assembly has authorized property owners to include their properties within energy special improvement districts (ESIDs) upon a petition to a municipal corporation or township. ESIDs are voluntary organizations of municipal corporations, townships, and property owners who undertake special energy improvement projects that benefit real property and finance those special energy improvement projects through voluntary special assessments.

The Toledo, Oregon, Maumee, Northwood, Perrysburg, Sylvania, Whitehouse, Township of Monclova, Township of Springfield, Township of Swanton, Township of Sylvania, Ohio Advanced Energy Improvement Corporation, doing business under the registered trade name Northwest Ohio Advanced Energy Improvement District (the District) was created under Ohio Revised Code Chapters 1702 and 1710 as an ESID and established pursuant to Resolution No. 207-11 of the Council of the City approved on May 18, 2011.
